Beyond Borders | Castellorizo International Documentary Festival is an annual festival in Castellorizo island in Greece. This year our distributor is one of the programming team!

Beyond Borders, the International Documentary Film Festival of Castellorizo island, was instituted in 2016 by the Hellenic History Foundation with the aim of highlighting the rich cultural heritage of Castellorizo and the promotion of documentary film.

A place of idyllic beauty, it is an ideal meeting point where documentary meets history and culture.

Organizers are Irini Sarioglou & Michel Noll

Irini Sarioglou was born in 1972 in Istanbul. Graduated from Zappeion High School for Girls, she studied French Language and Literature at the Universities of Marmara and Grenoble. She completed her postgraduate studies with scholarship of Onassis Public Benefit Foundation and State Scholarship Foundation at the University of Birmingham of Great Britain- Department of Byzantine, Ottoman and Modern Greek Studies. In 2004, part of her PhD thesis concerning the «Turkish policy towards Greek education in Istanbul 1923-1974» was published in English by ELIA and in 2011 in Greek by Hellenic History Foundation (IDISME).

Michel Noll (born 10 May 1949) is a French television director and producer.

Born in Cologne in Germany, Noll has lived in France for more than 40 years. After reading Economics and Sociology at the University of Cologne in Germany, he became a producer/director of television programs when, in 1977, he joined TELECIP in Paris, then the leading French independent production company. He is the artistic director of specialized festivals of social documentary about Iran, China, Japan and Greece.
